The Carling Nations Cup - Fans' will decide it's future ?

The Carling Nations Cup is just another competition in which some would call "meaningless International friendly matches".

Will the Carling Nations Cup be a huge hit with the fans, players and sponsors enough for it to be an annual or biannual event. ?

We all remember the International "home nations" tournament which was last played in 1984. This was different because ENGLAND were in it . However, England decided NOT to take part in the Carling Nations Cup for whatever reason. This to me was a massive blow to the Carling Nations Cup and put a huge dent in it's success because we all want the "big boys" taking part to add more spice and passion when we play the matches.

It'll be interesting to see the gate receipts to see how many bothered to attend.

The FANS WILL DECIDE its future, I've no doubt about that. It's a difficult time for all and this is another competition on top of what we already have which is pushing the boat out. However, it could've been workable should England have been onboard. It would have helped to sell tickets, to gain more interest and I'm sure more sellout matches, especially for the England vs Scotland fixture.

If it becomes a success then it'll prove that the fans wanted this type of competition added, however, if it becomes a flop  - is it purely down to the big boys not taking part and if so, why was is started in the first place - without them.
